The Montana Sapphire
Sapphires are found naturally all around the world, in varying colors and qualities. Sapphires from Kashmir and Sri Lanka, as well as the Montana Yogo sapphire, are extremely prized for their brilliant and consistent blue tones.
The Montana sapphire is mined in several locations throughout the state, and is a truly wonderful gemstone.
During the mining boom in the late-1800's, the sapphire was often overlooked by prospectors. Over time however, the lasting beauty and strength of the sapphire won out, and today the Montana sapphire is a gemstone that helps Montana live up to its name of the "Treasure State."
